Document Editing Toolbar Overview

Document Editing Toolbar:

ReadyRedact's document editing tools are conveniently located at the top of the Document Editor screen. The following article highlights each editing tool going from the left to the right of the Document Editor Toolbar. Detailed documentation for certain editing tools can be found by clicking on the links within the corresponding copy. 

The Document Editor Toolbar is conveniently located at the top of the screen.

1. Thumbnails, Outline, Annotations and Bookmarks: 

Breakdown your document views by Thumbnails, Outline, Annotations and Bookmarks. Click here for detailed documentation on how to use each feature.  

2. Page Navigation: 

Easily navigate from page to page with our Page Navigation feature. You can quickly scroll to a specific page in a multi-page document by clicking on the left and right directional arrows. You can also set your page mode and page transition preferences, as well as rotate page(s) as needed by clicking on the cog icon. 

3. Pan Mode: 

Use the Pan Mode feature to easily move around the screen when zoomed in on your document.

4. Zoom: 

Zoom in and out of your document to focus on specific areas using the increase and decrease magnifier icons. 

5. Fit To Page: 

Automatically fit a document into one full page for viewing using the Fit To Page feature. 

6. Drawing and Highlighting:

Easily draw on and/or highlight areas and text on your document. ReadyRedact allows users to customize colors, fills, blend mode, opacity, stroke size and more. Drawings and Freeform Highlights can be erased using the Eraser. Highlighted Text can be removed by opening the Annotations Tab, selecting the highlighted text annotation you wish to remove and clicking on the Trash Can icon. You can also select the desired Highlighted Text to remove and hit the Backspace or Delete button on your keyboard. 

7. Image and Stamp: 

Add images to your document by simply uploading and sizing files from your PC. You can also choose from a list of pre-set stamps (e.g., approved, draft, confidential, completed, etc.), or create a custom stamp to suit your needs. 8. Notes: 

Customize notes on your document using ReadyRedact's Notes feature. Once you click on the Notes icon, a menu will appear where you can choose note colors and identifiers such as arrows, paragraphs, checkmarks, question marks, stars, etc. Click here for detailed documentation on ReadyRedact's Notes feature. 

9. Text: 

Add text to your document and easily format the size, font, color, opacity, justification and alignment. 

10. Shapes: 

ReadyRedact features a variety of shapes to use when redacting documents. Choose a shape from the icon dropdown and customize the fill and line colors, opacity, stroke point, and border outline. 

11. Document Editor: 

You can add and delete pages, duplicate pages, rotate pages and import additional documents in the Document Editor icon. You can also crop a single page or all pages with the Document Crop feature. 

12. Search: 

Quickly search your document for words or phrases using the Search feature. 

13. Download: 

Click the Download icon to download documents directly to your PC.

14. Text and Area Redaction: 

ReadyRedact offers a variety of options when it comes to redacting. Click here to learn how to use the Text and Area Redaction feature. 

15. Redaction Tools: 

To use ReadyRedact's Search & Redact features, click on the Redaction Tool icon in the toolbar. The Redaction Tools window will open up to the right of the screen where you can search a document by text or patterns and automatically apply redactions. Once you click on Redaction Tools, the Redaction Tool sidebar will pop up.

16. Audit Log: 

To see which users have made redactions on a document, simply click on the Audit Log icon in the tool bar. A sidebar will appear displaying user names, timestamps and actions that were performed on a document. The Audit Log can be downloaded for export by clicking on the download icon. Click on the X to close out of the Audit Log.

Click on the Audit Log icon.
From the Audit Log popup, users can export an Audit Log report or close out of the window.

17. Email: 

To email your redacted document, simply click on the Email icon and enter the email addresses of those whom you wish to send the document. You have the option of entering a corresponding message with the email.
