How to Scan a Document into ReadyRedact

ReadyRedact's Quick Redact widget allows you to easily scan documents for redaction, saving, collaboration, sharing, and storage.

  1. Access the Scan Feature
    • From the Dashboard, locate the Quick Redact widget and click the Scan button.

  1. Connect to Your Scanner
    • ReadyRedact will connect to your scanner and display the Scanner Dashboard.
    • Note: Depending on your scanner’s brand and model, you may need to first open your scanner’s desktop software for the connection to be established.


  1. Configure Scan Settings
    • Confirm the Document Source and Page Placement (e.g., Before Current Page, Replace Current Page, After Current Page).
    • Follow the appropriate steps for your scanning needs:
      • Single Page:
        • Select Replace Current Page in the Page Placement dropdown.
        • Enter a name for the document in the File Name box.
        • Choose a File Type and click Scan.
        • When scanning is complete, click Finish.
      • Multiple Pages – Flatbed Scanner:
        • Scan pages individually, choosing the appropriate placement for each page before clicking Scan.
        • After scanning the entire document, click Finish.
        • Note: You can use the Scanner Dashboard to swap, edit, move, rotate, flip, cut, redact, zoom, delete, restore, and print pages.
      • Multiple Pages – Multi-Page Scanner:
        • Click the Scan button to scan all pages at once.
        • After scanning, click Finish.

Note: Editing options (swap, move, rotate, redact, etc.) are available in the Scanner Dashboard.

  1. Save the Scanned Document
    • After clicking Finish, choose how to save the document:
      • Select an existing folder.
      • Create a new folder.
      • Download the file.

Your document is now scanned into ReadyRedact and ready for use!
